I spend most of my time out in the community, catalyzing a movement through Plant Powered Metro New York. I'm planning educational programming, meeting with communal leaders, and developing projects that will bring healing and systemic change.
As a collaborative consultant -- not a health coach -- I'm extending my work through Partner for Change to bring a message and practice of healing to organizations and communities that seek new solutions. I also bring a vegan lifestyle perspective that can incorporate food and sustainability issues into broader planning, helping organizations live their often-unstated values around compassion and environmental protection.
My goal is to develop a new health narrative with your community so that you can start to embrace a life-giving food culture.
What do I offer?
Group facilitation and guided exploration of an alternative food and health paradigm
Action planning for health empowerment, for whole families, philanthropies, organizations, and communities
Some of the topics that are dear to me include:
Disease prevention and the healing power of whole food, plant-based nutrition
Helping families create healthy food havens and behaviors with children
Planning menus for healthy milestone events, and how to communicate about what you're serving
Talking to children about healthy food, and about our responsibilities to animals and the environment
The diversity of flavors in a gluten-free, plant-based diet, for those with gluten sensitivity and celiac disease
Gender justice: how food can liberate women from disease
Preventing early puberty: why we should care, what we can do
Why environmental activism must include food
Why movements for health and social justice must include food
A vision for a healthy Jewish community: the role of food in reducing our greatest communal scourges -- breast cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and more
The plant-based Shabbat and holiday table: new menus and rituals to sanctify our holy days
Using food b'rachot (blessings) and kashrut (Jewish dietary laws) to support the move to a plant-based diet
For the time being, I don't charge for these services but instead request a donation within your means to my organization, Plant Powered Metro New York.
